Delta AC Drive (VFD) – Advanced Motor Control Solutions
For Industrial Automation by Jai Krishna Bearing House – Authorized Dealer of Delta Electronics
In today’s fast-moving industrial environment, energy efficiency, precision control, and reliability are very important. AC motors are used in almost every industry—textile, packaging, plastics, cement, food processing, water treatment, HVAC, and many more. To control these motors efficiently, industries rely on high-performance AC drives, also known as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Jai Krishna Bearing House is proud to be an Authorized Dealer of Delta AC Drives, offering complete technical support, genuine products, and application guidance. Our technical team helps customers select, install, and commission the right drive for their application.
What is a Delta AC Drive?
A Delta AC Drive (VFD) is an electronic device that controls the speed and torque of a three-phase induction motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied to the motor.
Delta AC drives are designed for:
Energy saving
Smooth motor operation
Soft starting and stopping
Protection against overload and faults
Precise speed and torque control
Delta drives are widely trusted worldwide because of their strong design, stable performance, and advanced control technology.
Working Principle of Delta AC Drive
The working of a Delta VFD is based on three main stages:
1. Rectifier Section
Converts AC supply (single-phase or three-phase) into DC voltage using a diode or IGBT-based rectifier circuit.
2. DC Bus Section
Stores and filters the DC voltage using capacitors and inductors. This ensures stable and smooth DC supply.
3. Inverter Section
Converts DC back to AC with variable frequency and voltage using IGBT switching technology.
By controlling frequency (Hz), the motor speed is controlled:
Motor Speed (RPM) = (120 × Frequency) / Number of Poles
When frequency increases, speed increases. When frequency decreases, speed decreases.
Key Technical Features of Delta AC Drives
As an authorized Delta dealer, we provide drives with advanced technical features:
1. Control Methods
V/F Control (Voltage/Frequency Control)
Sensorless Vector Control (SVC)
Closed Loop Vector Control (with encoder)
Torque Control Mode
These methods provide precise speed and torque regulation even at low RPM.
2. Power Range
Delta AC Drives are available in wide power ranges:
From fractional HP motors
Up to high-capacity industrial motors (hundreds of kW)
Suitable for:
Single-phase input (for small applications)
Three-phase input (for industrial heavy loads)
3. Frequency Output Range
0.1 Hz to 400 Hz (or higher depending on application)
Adjustable acceleration and deceleration time
4. Built-in Protection Features
Delta AC Drives provide complete motor and system protection:
Overcurrent protection
Overvoltage protection
Undervoltage protection
Overload protection
Short circuit protection
Overheating protection
Ground fault protection
Phase loss detection
These features increase motor life and reduce breakdown time.
5. Energy Saving Capability
One of the biggest advantages of Delta AC Drives is energy efficiency.
In applications like:
Pumps
Fans
Blowers
Power consumption reduces significantly when speed is reduced. Energy saving can reach 30% to 50% depending on load condition.
This directly reduces electricity bills and improves ROI for industries.
6. Built-in PLC Function
Many Delta drives come with:
Built-in PLC functionality
Multi-step speed control
Timer functions
Simple logic programming
This reduces the need for external PLC in small automation systems.
7. Communication Protocols
Delta AC Drives support multiple industrial communication protocols:
Modbus RTU
CANopen
Profibus
